To enable “Functioning as a team” in an organisation of around 200 employees, the following must be in place:
  • a structure with clearly defined roles and responsibilities

  • a system to provide answers to most of the operational questions

  • an operational decision making process for HR matters – typically somewhat delegated by top management, while the strategic decisions remain centralised

  • defined HR processes for the entire organisation – with reduced flexibility – to ensure uniformity
