To enable “Achieving the overall objective” in an organisation of around 200 employees, the following must be in place:
  • performance assessment based on tangible objectives and targets at department and individual levels

  • normalisation in performance rating driven by managerial judgement of contribution to organisational objectives

  • differentiation in performance rewards driven by a structured rewards scheme – typically now also including annual performance-based variable pay
