  • performance assessment driven by an IT enabled process based on clearly defined individual objectives and targets

  • normalisation in performance rating driven by a pre-defined normalisation curve and algorithm

  • differentiation in performance rewards driven by a structured rewards scheme – variable pay may typically be fine-tuned in different parts of the organisation to address needs based on different context
